Node.js is a software platform for scalable server-side and networking applications. Node.js applications maximize throughput and efficiency, using non-blocking I/O and asynchronous events. These applications run single-threaded, although Node internally uses multiple threads for file and network events. Node.js applications are written in JavaScript, and can be run within the Node.js runtime on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux with no changes. It internally uses the Google V8 JavaScript engine to execute code, and a large percentage of the basic modules are written in JavaScript. Node.js contains a built-in HTTP server library, making it possible to run a web server without Apache or Lighttpd.

Android is an operating system based on the Linux kernel, and designed primarily for touch screen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Android’s source code is released by Google under the Apache License; this permissive licensing allows the software to be freely modified and distributed. Most Android devices ship with a combination of open source and proprietary software. The user interface of Android is based on direct manipulation, using touch inputs that loosely correspond to real-world actions, like swiping, tapping, pinching and reverse pinching to manipulate on-screen objects.

iOS is a mobile operating system developed and distributed by Apple Inc. The user interface of iOS is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. Interface control elements consist of sliders, switches, and buttons. Interaction with the OS includes gestures such as swipe, tap, pinch, and reverse pinch, all of which have specific definitions within the context of the iOS operating system and its multi-touch interface.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the look and formatting of a document written in a markup language. It is usually used to style web pages and interfaces written in HTML and XHTML. CSS can be applied to any kind of XML document, including plain XML, SVG and XUL.

HTML is great for declaring static documents, but it falters when we try to use it for declaring dynamic views in web-applications. AngularJS lets you extend HTML vocabulary for your application. The resulting environment is extraordinarily expressive, readable, and quick to develop.

Other frameworks deal with HTML’s shortcomings by either abstracting away HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript or by providing an imperative way for manipulating the DOM. Neither of these address the root problem that HTML was not designed for dynamic views.
